MA in Popular Culture - The University of Wolverhampton
This innovative and multidisciplinary course allowed an advanced level study of various aspects of popular culture, principally that produced and consumed in Britain since the late nineteenth century. The programme consisted of a broad range of modules from a number of academic disciplines, including History, English, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Religious Studies, and Film Studies. My areas of study included contemporary film, television, and music.

I used my three years as a student gaining as much real-world experience as possible. As well as the practical elements of this course, I also took advantage of the work experience opportunities available with local media organisations, learning further skills in my own time.

Content Writer Click Intelligence Jan 2018 - Present
As a content writer for Click Intelligence, I write articles for a large number of clients and publishers in a wide range of styles. Content subjects for Click Intelligence have included B2B and B2C articles, FinTech, technology, and food & drink advice. As well as integrating the latest SEO techniques and the relevant tone of voice, I am also required to do extensive link-building and subject research in order to make maximum use of content as a traffic driving resource.
Freelance Content Writer Varied Clients Jan 2016 - Present
Pitching, researching, and writing content for a variety of web-based publications. These have included sites such as Blasting News (trending news content), Cultjer, GeekNative, and Film Daily (film and television reviews), RV Living (camping and caravanning) and Kiq Records (music reviews).
Radio Journalist/Presenter Cannock Chase Radio Mar 2014 - Apr 2017
As well as scripting four-hour daily breakfast shows, I also ran the journalism output of Cannock Chase Radio. This meant sourcing local news stories and managing the social media pages, including the implementation of planned strategies and content optimisation. I also wrote advertising campaigns for clients, liaising closely with them and ensuring that a quality advertising campaign was devised that reflected both the company and the local nature of the station. I created competitions for listeners, produced edited radio packages, and created links with local organisations, schools, and colleges in order to create content, source new talent, and increase listener numbers.
Lead Reporter The Euro Weekly News 2003 to 2007
I was the lead reporter for the Spanish newspaper, The Euroweekly News. This involved sourcing and writing every news article for the Costa Blanca edition, and later for the Costa Almeria edition as well. I was responsible for 10,000 words a week in terms of news, features, and interviews, all to a very strict deadline.
