For the last few months, I have been writing occasional articles when requested from online retailer Zavvi.

CLICK INTELLIGENCE

For the last two years, I have been writing a wide variety of articles for the web management company Click Intelligence. These articles are written in a number of different styles depending on the publishing site, and include link-builds and the required level of SEO.

Through Click Intelligence I have been lucky to have had clients including Cosmopolitan, DaddyGeek, FINE Magazine, Strategy Driven, Nanohub, the Click Intelligence blog, The Leader, Society Bride, Verge, and Choosist.

These articles are generally ghostwritten, with bylines attributed to the website itself, and cannot be shared by myself on social media. The articles linked here (whether they are linked to the article in question or my original document) are examples of the variety required, with the majority of articles being B2C related. Many further articles are available to view on request.

Sex, Drugs, and Superheroes: A Misfits appreciation

geek-native-logo-large.jpg

With news that a US version of the iconic cult TV series Misfits is on the way, I pitched an appreciation article on the original show for Geek Native.

Does AI dream of electric sheep? ‘Westworld’ and AI in pop culture

I was lucky to get published on the independent entertainment website Film Daily. This article hovers between entertainment and information, and all with an edge of academia to it. My favourite type of article writing.

ARTIFICIAL HOPE

I recently published my first novella 'Artificial Hope'. Using a love of cutting-edge real-world science and the knowledge gained from studying science fiction, AI, and the history of drug use in modern Britain, I created this dystopian exploration that I hope acts as a counterbalance to the negative portrayals of AI in popular culture.

Opinion - Z Nation is better than

The Walking Dead

Both The Walking Dead and Z Nation are part way through their respective seasons. With viewing figures for the ambling TWD dropping week by week, and Z Nation continuing to offer more stable viewing figures, are there any lessons for The Walking Dead to learn from that ‘other zombie show’?

POP MATTERS

I was fortunate to have work published on the international website of cultural criticism and analysis, PopMatters. My academic article was originally written as part of my MA, but after interest from the PopMatters team, I tailored the writing to make it more in tune with the easy-reading style of the site. The article was shared on the PopMatters social media, where they have almost 27k followers on Facebook and 27.4K on Twitter.

PopMatters is a respected source for smart long-form reading on a wide range of topics and serves as a bridge between academia and popular culture.

SABOTAGE TIMES

I wrote my first article for Sabotage Times on the Channel Four programme ‘Utopia’. Due to that review I was invited to press screenings for new television shows and a set visit for Utopia Season 2. I also wrote about DC Comics, a hopeful article about the television adaptation of Preacher and a review of the programme Agents of SHIELD.

The Imminent Demise of DC Comics

UTOPIA: Is This Channel 4's Ultra-violent Masterpiece?

Preacher: Why Seth Rogen's New TV Adaptation Will Fill Your Breaking Bad Hole

I was the lead reporter for the Costa Blanca edition of the weekly newspaper The Euroweekly News. Based in Altea, this involved sourcing and writing every news article for the Costa Blanca edition, and later for the Costa Almeria edition as well. I was responsible for 10,000 words a week in terms of news, features, and interviews, all to a very strict deadline.
